The GOAT of Beaches đď¸ â Wow!! Weâve been to our fair share of destinations. We have NEVER witnessed beaches so stunningly prestine in our lives! Bermudaâs water is turquoise, the sand is pink. Yes pink! The views are breathtaking. From coves to caves, Bermuda has it and does it better then any place on the planet. The beaches are definitely the highlight here and will spoil you.
Donât forget your wallet đ¸ â we didnât know this coming here but Bermuda has always been in the top three in highest cost of living in the world. It is HYPER EXPENSIVE. Good Lawd!! Expect to pay 2x to 3x as much for anything you want compared to the states. Dinner for three with no drinks? Thatâs $250 sir đ. Need to buy a toothbrush? $12 maâam đ. âOk, well Iâll just go to the grocery store, cook my own food and save some moneyâ. A dozen eggs $9 đ. A pack of bacon $11 đ. A 12 pack of Deer Park water $17.50 on sale đ. Thereâs no escaping it. Your credit card will be disrespected at every turn đ˘. The reason behind it is that EVERYTHING is imported and nothing is made in Bermuda. Just mentally prepare yourself to make it rain everyday. Pack some samiches when going to the beach. If you like ordering uber eats two to three times a day, Bermudaâs cost of living will humble you fast and will bring you back to your roots đ.
Is Bermuda safe? â Absolutely! đNo worries here. Bermudanâs got money so they ainât worried about taking yours. We felt completely safe. Like any other foreign country, use your common sense and youâll be fine.
Transportation đ â Bermuda is a small island in the middle of The Atlantic Ocean. We were shocked to find out that it was only a 2 hour flight from NYC! We recommend getting a bus pass for all of the days that you are staying. The busses will take you to all of the hotspots around the island and will save you a ton of cash compared to a taxi. Busses run every 15 minutes during the day and every half hour at night. A taxi ride from one end of the island to the other is $100 one way. Scooter rental is the best option. This gives you the most freedom to do whatever you need to do however, they drive on the left side of the road in Bermuda so one mistake could be your last. Just sayinâ.
Amazing people â Bermudan people are some of the nicest and welcoming people you will ever meet. Everyone speaks to you, says hello and are very helpful. Bermuda has a population of only 65,000 people so it seems like everyone knows each other. We where at the beach and crashed a church barbecue due to the rain. (They had tents for cover, we did not) they fed us and offered to drive us back to our Airbnb afterwards. Great culture, great vibes.Â
Limited Eats đ â Bermuda doesnât have big box stores like Walmart etc. No fast food restaurants etc. Everything is very mom and pop. Eat diner early because restaurants usually shut down around 8-9pm. We recommend stocking up on groceries and snacks to keep your budget in check. Staying at an Airbnb that has a full kitchen so you can make your own food is a must unless you got it like that đ°đ°
Nightlife đĽ- besides the city of Hamilton there isnât too much nightlife here. Bermuda is a very laid back country that thrives in the daytime at itâs beaches. Bermuda is perfect for a family vacation. Extroverts would call it boring. Introverts would call it home. Locals have their own house parties. I donât blame them because who would want to go out and spend $300 to have a good time on a Friday night. The city of Hamilton would be the place that youâd want to stay for some nightlife for sure if parting is your thing. Of course you could get creative, meet some rich folks that have a yacht and party with them too lol.
Weather â from our experience, much like Florida it rains every day on and off for a few minutes then itâs sunny again. If youâre at the beach and it rains, donât go home, just stay yo a$$ in the ocean with everyone else until it passes. Youâre already wet anyway đ¤ˇđžââď¸.
